I would go with the XE

A7

My heart says M3. My head says none of them.

XE might be your best bet, but I’ve heard the F-Pace is better.

How about now?

A7

A7.

Option Number 4
A 2015 Alchemy Purple SS with manual transmission.

2016 WRX STI.

A7 any day of the week.

The BMW will retain the most value. Might already be climbing. But.mother of god the maintenace....ouch
The audi is the ‘safe’ bet. The a7 is fairly well screwed and wired together, and big and comfy. But its big, kinda annoying to park, and probably not all that fast
The jag is the weird one. Losing the most money in depreciation, but warrenty and cheapest running costs

I guess the A7 then. But I may come back in a month to let you put me out of my misery.

Well do it together.

I don’t see a Japanese car in your list.

This list is 100% beige free.

Don’t forget that with the Jag, the interior features (mostly just the touchscreen) will be more modern than the other two. The new Jags have really good infotainment, actually.

XE

That Jag probably has a stick at that price, so Jaaaaag.
![]() 08/12/2016 at 19:39 |

but the jag is a 35k car new, where as the audi was 60K new. audis infotainment might be on par. MMI has been really really good for a number of years now

I like how you say factor in maintenance costs, as if that separates the choices at all. If I have to shoot myself in the foot, I’ll take the M3.

He said 35k, not 45k.

Used and leftover SS are going for under 35k.
Plus GM had/has 20% off for all SS which brought brand new 2016s to 34k. :-P

But, but CTS-V...

Wow, you’re not joking. I just checked autotrader, I stand corrected.

I’d get a Lexus IS350 F-Sport.
But your list, A7 all the way.

WRX... and a couple cases of good synthetic oil

A7

I find the Audi a bit boring, so the obvious choice is the Jag.
But who needs sense? Give me the M3 - it’s easily the best car here.
It would be a pain to run, but you could go a lot worse.
